After my recent travels to Japan, Australia and Thailand I was really inspired by the amount of colour that surrounded me. After seeing previews last year of this year’s SS 13 collections I realised prints this year are bigger and bolder than we’ve seen in a long time! It’s not just bright and bold colour though, nope, we’re going full on ‘junglist massive’ and wearing prints of wild animals in any way we can get our hands on it!
Part of the reason for this frenzy is Nigerian-born Duro Olowu who returned to his first love of fashion with the launch of his London-based label. He won the British Fashion Council’s New Designer award just a year later. Thank goodness he put an end to his career in law…. Even ice queen U.S Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, is a fan.
Celebs such as Rita Ora have been embracing the trend. Here she is in Roberto Cavalli.
I’m loving everything in this Valentino collection especially the elegant silhouette of each piece.
And for a more King of the Jungle approach, here is Kenzo’s contribution. I LOVE the tiger jumper.
But it’s not all top end designer, the high street have a great range for those on a more lemonade budget.
Fearne Cotton is a great pioneer of high street fashion and here she is in one of her own creations for her very.co.uk line.
