We have been blessed with so much sun this year that I am sad thinking about the return to cold and rainy days. The only thought getting me through this is the promise of exciting AW14 style, so here is a little selection of our key trends for AW14.
Sixties mod is in. Pair a short sixties style dress with knee highs as seen at Nicolas Ghesquiere’s first show for Louis Vuitton which also featured structured A-line shifts and polo necks, seen below:
Search vintage stores, such as Beyond Retro (www.beyondretro.com) for an original piece or try Atom Retro (www.atomretro.com) where I found some great dresses including this one below:
Grey has never been so chic. It was on the catwalk for Christopher Kane and Armani and it is this season’s neutral. You can add some zing to this trend with red lippy to brighten up a dull day.

I adore this look from the Mango AW14 lookbook (www.mango.com
), pale denim boyfriend jeans and oversized grey coat, below:
Fairytale dresses and winter florals are also strong. Valentino’s dreamy AW14 show was full of perfect pieces. I think I might be in love with them all, see below:
On the highstreet Mango again has a great selection of floaty feminine maxi dresses, featuring lace and floral prints, see below:
The accessory of the season has to be a novelty bag. There are so many available, from the Moschino fast food collection, to Givenchy Antigona Bambi tote; there is sure to be something to tickle your taste.

Teddy fleeces are also going to be popular. The 1.3 Phillip Lim fleece biker jacket is still a key piece, see below:
Whistles are also going to be delivering on this trend with some amazing fleece coats (see above), perfect for when that change in weather makes it’s inevitable appearance.
